Root Chakra Crystals

The root chakra or Muladhara chakra is the first of the 7 main chakras. It is located at the base of the spine and traditionally has been associated with the frequency of the colour red.

It links to the Earth element and the adrenal glands within our physical body.

The root chakra helps us to feel safe and secure in our life. It grounds us to Mother Earth (along with the out of body Earth Star Chakra) and helps us to feel connection to the Earth. It deals with our physical existence and our instinct for survival which encompasses the need for shelter, food, security and these days also includes independence and financial security.

When balanced and healthy the root chakra helps us to feel confident, grounded and fulfilled in our lives. We feel secure and stable, have vitality, tenacity and patience.

When unbalanced or out of alignment we can feel like we are in fight or flight mode. We feel anxious, insecure, exhausted, depressed and confused. We become detached from nature and focused on the materialistic aspect of life.
