The sacral chakra or Svadhisthana chakra is located about 2 inches below the navel and is associated with the frequency of the colour orange and fuchsia.

It links with the element of water and our reproductive organs within our physical body.

The sacral chakra helps us with creativity, acceptance, sexuality, desires, feelings and fluidity. It is our energetic creative centre and the centre of our emotional balance. Svadhisthana means ‘home of the vital force’, so our sacral chakra is where our vital life force sits.

When balanced and healthy the sacral chakra helps us to flow in our lives and through the world around us. It enables us to actively express our creativity, joy and pleasure. We become more adaptable to the unavoidable changes around our lives.

When imbalanced we can feel isolated and struggle with intimacy on all levels. We may find ourselves feeling guilt or shame and become rigid and inflexible in our thoughts, beliefs and actions. We struggle with creative inspiration, and find it difficult to feel joy or pleasure in the world.
